¡Hola Carlitos! It's archetypal Madrid family restaurant eating. The kind that's getting harder to find inside the M30 than it should.

Classic bar/dining area set up. Climbing plants present and correct. Old prints of Madrid present and correct. Laminated ads for special offers and menus present and correct.

Special menu comes with generous (ie a la carte, not daily menu) style portions. It's a whole plate of (room temperature, well done on that) cold cuts and tomatoed bread, pp. It's a spectacularly good 400g entrecote. It's a military line up of chiperones. There's pork loin in cream sauce. Homemade chips and pimientos de padron are the simple garnishes. Desserts are the usual suspects, but at least there's a homemade pudding lurking there too.

We have to declare the fact we've been regulars for many years. So it's on first name terms. But we think it'd be smart and timely anyway. Excellent rader.

Well, not really. It's an omnivore-focussed menu. If your needs are otherwise truth be told you'll be navigating and being pretty selective here.

Change one thing?
Churlish to say it. The cold cut plates were maybe too generous. The hefty dollop of raussion salad meant some of our group of 6 were struggling with the main courses.

For consistency, in this part of town, there's no great need to look elsewhere.
