Basics
Hopes? Lebanese everyday dishes? In an industrial-looking interior? Ideal for a light lunch, surely?
Reality? Good. But VFM at Zaatar & Co isn't quite where it needs to be.
USP? These dishes, this format, this branding. Smarter than much of the competition.
First Impressions? On trend decoration, the huge open kitchen, with its large flatscreens, looks more designed for quick pick-ups, Barajas Terminal 4 departures or the local council office than relaxed eat ins. Fun to watch what's going on, of course.
The offer in three words? 1) Lebanese 2Street 3Food!
Service? Certain Zaatar & Co is friendly - we learnt the lebanese arabic word for "diamond". But you're doing the ordering and picking up from the counter, so we can't judge service, as such.
On tap? We went for bottled Almaza - the Lebanese speciality.
Eat me!
Hummus felt homemade and was suitably creamy, although we could have done with more pita to make the most of all of it.
Fried Halloumi at Zaatar & Co meant four largish pieces. Mango salsa was a bit unexpected as a condiment and perhaps not the combination of flavours we'd choose. Perhaps we just want more spice.
Labneh Zaatar felt like a dip or two might have been nice  for this cheese-filled flat bread, although we can hardly complain if a dish authentically comes without them, First time with Labneh for us, and it was a good choicem, which I'd try again if I was here.
Lebanese Style Chicken felt 30% of the chips and some pita short of a full main course. We really wanted more of almost everything here, partly as it wasn't as big as we'd like, but mostly because what there was - with more hummus and some welcome acidic pickles - was very enjoyable and moreish. Nicely marinated fresh chicken, is a great advert for how fresh everything here is,
Friend friendly? Navigable for vegans and vegetarians, we think.
Rating for dating? Not going to be a first choice. We're talking self-service fast (finger) food, after all.
Change one thing? Portion size. If I'd ordered online I would have been raiding the fridge after what I got.
Revisitability? On the line, as things stand.
