What's the story?
Deep in Madrid's non-lockdown lockdown, we all need something that's not a poke, a burger or a pizza, don'r we? And we're also on the lookout for food that travels well. A place might make great dishes, but not everything likes being bagged up on the back of a bike and bounced down the cobbles and round the tight corners of the Madrid Central zone.

Reaching us after a pretty testing 1km-plus journey, Out-fry's Korean fried chicken made it in good shape, and is worth a punt, we think.

With the Crispy bu-ket we ordered Salsa Gochujang. Seven decent chunks of lean chicken and a decent spicy sauce, we recommend adding Mayo Ssamjang for some extra creamy spicyness.

Yangnyeom chicken bowl is four more chicken pieces - about a chicken breast in total - with a decent range of pickles, some kimchi, plenty of spicy sauce and a decent bed of sticky rice to soak up the goodness. There's plenty of chance for mix and matching your flavours in a fun way, so what's not to enjoy there?

Always after a dessert, we weren't entirely confident how Korean a Coconut and Banana Bowl with peanut topping might be and our South Korea correspondent confirms it's a nation not known for its banana harvest. Mind you, as a sort of exotic crumble substitute it worked very nicely, even if the coconut was a slightly off putting colour. Perfect? For me, not quite. More sauce would have been welcome.

I'd have liked the chicken fried a minute or so less. Crunchy is good, but some of this was a bit too brittle for my liking. This wasn't at all greasy (Excellent) but you've got to balance things carefully to stay juicy. For the future? We'll buy in some Korean beers and a bottle or two of sauces from Calle Leganitos and invest our dosh in more chicken and maybe more of that banana special.

Packaging is partly non plastic, although there's still some way to go when it comes to lids and transparent pots. Coming in before discount at about €24 for two it's a pretty good deal, and we felt we could have added another smallish dish or side, to treat ourselves a little.
