What's the story?
Sometimes it's the surprises that matter. Thanks to Crömia, our Saturday lunch produced one after another, and the odd laugh too. What more can you ask for during days like these? We recommend you give it a try soon.

Burgers, dogs and a mix of Latam style dishes are the thrust of the offer, with a couple of unexpected Asian ideas rounding things out.

El Junquito is very meaty mix of chorizo, morcilla and pork bites, with some fried cornbread for texture. Add some nicely acidic sauce. A very beer friendly starter to share.

There's a load of one-plate parillas on offer, with a mix of garnishes and a choice of beef/chicken or mixed across all of the variously priced options. We opted to cover some bases with La Chevere. The meats were again terrific. The chorizo from the Junquito put in a second appearance. Beef and chicken were excellently marinated and delicious. yucca made a decent change from spuds, slaw and picadillo all worked well as palette cleansers and contrasts. Spicy citrusy acidic sauce balanced things well. It's filling stuff, with plenty of flavour thanks to the freshness.

Spreading our flavour experience, pulled pork burger came with a decent wedge wodge and a pot of ketchup. We'd have liked something with a but more to say for itself than Heinz's finest, but the brioche breaded burger was the star of the show and didn't disappoint. Pork with apple and beer sauce and a serious note of cinnamon? Easily the most distinctive PP we've tried. Appreciation of cinnamon is a big plus in this one. Look elsewhere if it's not your spice, girl.

Donuts for dessert? Why not, Donut? Bienmesabe is a vision. A cloud of creamy white. Classic latin American three milk flavours with a touch of rum and the donut underneath doing duty as sponge substitute. This works jolly well and is just right for two to share without a sugar overload. It beats a triangle of industrial-looking cake any day.

Dimly lit on a November Saturday, there were bonus points for an 80s-leaning soundtrack that suited the diner demo perfectly. When the background music provokes a spontaneous
around you, someone's made a canny choice and we have to add half a star to the ambience score for everyone laughing at once. Icebreaker, ahoy. Abit more decor and work on the lighting would be good though. Service was efficient and friendly, three large beers - Amstel - sorted us for drinks.
