What's the story?

Burgers? Done. Pizzas? Done. Things really like pizzas but rectangular? Done. Twice. 

So, something a little different for lunch as we prepare for another lockdown scenario. What's on offer?

Lomo Saltado

This is good. And enormous. You could feed two and have plenty left for seconds. LS works well as home delivery, although a pot of extra gravy/sauce/salsa wouldn't go amiss, as what you get ends up absorbed by the rice - there's lots of rice - so things are going to turn a tad less succulent than they might when I scoff the rest for lunch later in the week - but scoff I surely shall. Well cooked chips and tasty tomato, the shallots add sweetness, the beef's not bad in quality either. Good value for three, let alone two. 

Seco de Pollo

Now then. This one's the same enormous metal foil dish as the lomo. And also full of food. But the balance isn't quite right. A decent and perfectly cooked very tasty chicken quarter comes with excellent fried yucca and sauce. And enough rice for the other three people you're allowed to meet up with. There's the issue. Too much rice, not enough meat. Add a second piece of chicken and - yes it'd be more expensive to cook - cur the rice by a third and the excellent sauce wouldn't be overwhelmed. Good chicken elements, the whole needs a bit of help,

Ocopa Arequipeña

Here's a starter slash side to discover. Cold boiled potatoes in a creamy, pesto parsley sauce. Added olive and egg garnish. Sounds like something different and looks it. This split the crowd. Acquired taste for some, interesting discovery for others. Try and decide.

Expectation management? These three dishes are enough food for two meals for two. But let's be clear. Fine dining is not the deal, here. This is like popping to your Peruvian Aunt Lucy's for Sunday lunch, so if you're OK with visiting family, onward!
